Looking for a Grand Slam in surf fishing? Now is a great time to give it a try. Blue fish, keeper size bass and keeper size fluke are all in the surf right now. The fish are being taken on all the usual cut baits, bunker, clam and squid. Poppers, metals and buck tail jigs tipped with gulp or gulp fished alone cover the artificial scene. The bay has a few 2 to 3 lb blues being taken on small metals and small chunks of bunker. Keeper size crabs are starting to find their way into the pots but not in any great numbers. Some nice softies were scooped from the pilings yesterday, always a pleasant surprise… John Yac
