Fishing Report

Beach remains quiet with some small fluke in the wash. Now and again a keeper will jump on and make your day, all the more reason to fish Island Beach State Park this time of year if your looking for fluke from the surf. The new (2) fluke at 16″ is definitely helping to put filets on the table when it comes to those tasty fluke. The bay on the other hand is where most of the action is right now although mainly by boat. Nice keeper size fluke are being taken in the areas of the BB and BI buoys and also behind Barnegat Light. Also some small bass are being taken in Barnegat Inlet. No solid word on the blow fishing in the bay as of yet. Crabbing remains steady but you have to work for your catch… John Yac
