The worst fishing and worst weather conditions of the season are always found in August. Yesterday’s report will bear that out for sure. So if you’re a optimist like I am, things can on get better! Fluke fishing in the surf for the few who were willing to try was a slow pick at best. A few cocktail blues were also reported. The crabbing out back off our dock was a matter of battling the strong southerly winds and tons of short crabs to put together a small catch of keepers. Even the snappers were spotty.
