With the great weather forecasted for today and a light NE wind blowing, the surf should be in decent shape. The mullet run is now underway, with the big blues and cow bass not far behind. Small blues and bass are showing up in the surf and around the inlet areas. Small swimmers and metals with mullet profiles will catch fish. Not a plug caster? Try cut mullet on a Hi-Lo rig while the fish are on the small side, then move to a mullet rig when the blues get larger. Cut bunker fished on a fish-finder rig when the big girls start to show is a favorite method among fall surf anglers. We are still picking some decent keeper crabs, just not a lot of them, from our dock and rental boats… John Yac
