The surf scene is switching over to it’s summer mode now. Fluke fishing is starting to heat up, and tailor blues are also in the mix. Buck tail jigs tipped with gulp or squid strips for the fluke while poppers, swimmers, metals and cut baits for the blues. There are fluke and blues in the back bay also. The BB and BI buoys are the usual bay target hot spots while the inlets, Barnegat and Manasquan are also producing fish. Crabbing from piers and boats is just getting started in our area.
