Large blue fish have dominated the surf bite in the past couple of days. They are being caught on fresh cut bunker and metal which ever suits your fancy. The fish seem to be stretched out from Lavallette to Island Beach State Park. The boat and kayak fisherman are getting a extra bonus, along with the large blues, bass up 48 lbs have been landed on the snag and drop method and also on the troll with large spoons and stretches. The bay out back has been giving up some small to mid size blue fish on cut bunker and small metals. Crabbing has been slow with only a few keepers here and there mostly in the overnight traps….
