Fishing Report

If you are new to surf fishing and really never seen a cow nose ray up close with a 3 ft. plus wing span now is the time to check them out. IBSP yesterday at top of the tide had "rays on parade" from the wash to out passed the first wave, rays in singles, twos, and threes lazily flapped their wings as they moved south with the tide. Not the greatest thing for the surf fisherman but interesting to watch never the less. On the brighter note, sharking in the park after dark is doing well. Remember these Sand Tigers should be released unharmed ASAP for they are on the endangered species list... John Yac

Fishing Report

Pick, Pick, Pick is the cry of most of the surf fishermen I have spoken to the past couple of days. With small baits in the wash small blues and fluke seem to be interested at times. If your looking for a good bend in your rod this time of the year night time sharking is your only choice. The night tides are also bring large cow nose rays into the feeding zone. Crabbing remains good especially from the boats just a little south of us. But shore bound crabbers are still putting together decent catches, the only problem is weeding through all those shorts... Fishing Report

More tolerable weather forecasted for the weekend should make surf fishing more attractive. It's hard to get a good report on what's happening with so few anglers. But just going by the time of year, fluke and small blues should be the one two punch right now during the daylight hours with shark fishing during the night tides. For those dyed in the wool bass hounds, night tides during July and even into the first week of August has seen some large bass on cut bunker. Crabbing remains good and more and more snappers are showing up daily... John Yac

Fishing Report

Keep your rain gear close by! Today will see showers on and off but the good news is on shore winds and high tide at mid day. These conditions could produce a good surf fishing day. Add to that a very few beach goers and the number one benefit is no flies!... John Yac

Fishing Report

There are some nice size fluke being taken in IBSP not a ton but some nice 2 - 4 lb. fish. These great eating flatties seem to be favoring a variety of natural cut baits. Bluefish strips, peanut bunker, live killies, spearing and squid combos or just squid strips alone all fished on ether a bucktail jig or a 3-way swivel rig with a dresses hook or not. Night time sharking is in full swing with some nights producing better than others. The key here is a strong large hook with a stout wire leader and a good size chunk of mullet or bunker... John Yac
