Fishing Report

Well yesterday brought some nice bass and blues to the local scales. Bass mostly in the 10# class were taking clams from Ortley Beach to the north thru Island Beach State Park to the south. Bluefish were also in the mix but cut bunker was the answer for them. Fluke are still being picked in the surf, the trick is to keep moving till you find the fish. Crabbing is finely taking a up turn one of our rental boats returned with a nice catch of 30 nice keepers to 6". The dock is still a work in progress thou... John Yac

Fishing Report

Rain gear morning if not on and off all day. Blues on bunker seems to be the cry right now with some fluke taking bucktail gulp combos where you find them along the surf line. The bay is still holding blues with some top water action available for those who want to try. Fluke are also in all the usual hot spots, not a ton but a good pick never the less. Crabbing is still stuck in low gear, but persistent crabbers are still putting together a decent meal... John Yac

Insane heat keeps most fisherman at home in their AC! Easterly winds will give us some relief at the shore today. With more fishing activity and a mid day high tide we should see some fish finding their way to the local scales today. Crabbing remains painfully slow for this time of year... John Yac

Just when you think things are finely starting to pop, the bottom falls right out. What a crazy spring season this year, the fishing has been so erratic that giving a accurate report is almost impossible. Never the less the beat goes on and with each new fishing day a new challenge presents itself. Bass, blues and fluke remain our main targets but to score well on these fish you have change with the conditions or go fish less. But many times that's easier said than done... John Yac

Great summer weather brings good beach and bay fishing! The spring bite up till now has been a bit sluggish, but the coming of the warmer weather has sparked a increase in both the surf and bay bites. Bass, blues and some nice size fluke have been taken, add to that the crabbing is getting better by the day. Remember we now have LIVE KILLIES along with large hole squid bodies and pre-cut squid strips... John Yac
