Outstanding weather forecasted for the next couple of days! No excuse for not hitting the beach! More and more keeper bass are hitting the scales with some nice size bluefish mixed in. The lion's share of the action has been on bait, but the skilled plug guys are holding there own. Large schools of bunker are starting to show and you know the old adage, find the bait and you will find the fish. There are some nice keeper bass starting to be taken in our area now both in the surf and from the boats. Yesterday brought some nice bass to the local scales both from the surf and boat. Cut bait, and clams in the surf while trolling large bunker spoons in the ocean accounted for the day's catch. The bite will only improve next week with the improving weather and wind directions. The ocean side is finally showing signs of life. As the ocean temps rise so does the surf action. Reports of bluefish and keeper bass are on the rise. The bulk of these fish being caught are all on bait, cut bunker and clams seems to be the two top favorites. Poppers and swimming plugs along with buck tails are the artificial choices. The bay is still loaded with all size blues and the crabbing is coming along especially in the overnight pots... John Yac

The beat goes on! Yes the blue fish bite is still on in the inlet and also in the bay. There are some nice weak fish and a few keeper bass being taken just north of us in the Manasquan area.
