Fishing Report

Nice fall feeling morning! Reports of keeper bass continue in the surf joined by small blues. These fish are hitting both bait and lures. On the bait front we have FRESH BUNKER and FRESH LIVE CLAMS, add to that frozen mullet and squid along with salted clams. On the artificial front, Poppers, swimmers and metals all will produce at the right times... John Yac

More keeper bass each day reported taking clams in the surf. We heard of king fish also being taken on small pieces of clam in the park. Blues are still around and as always cut baits, mullet and bunker should be your first choices. The surf is clean and fishable and the water temperatures are slowing falling which will trigger the fall migration... John Yac

Some keeper bass mid day on bait! For those fisherman who just can't get up early and are off the beach before dark this is music to your ears. No blitz by any means but some nice fat fish around never the less. Add to that small blues just to keep you paying attention. Bait is the main producer by day, cut mullet, bunker and clams for sure. While you wait for that hit, tossing a popper is a good idea for those who just can't stay still... John Yac

It's time to start soaking some clams now! There have been a few bass caught on clams the past few days both during the day and after dark. Some nice size bass were taken over the weekend up in Raritan Bay, so things are starting to happen. Small blues are still around so cut bunker and mullet will always work. Poppers, swimmers and metals are always good choices in the artificial category... John Yac

Might be a good idea to bring rain gear today! Showers forecasted later in the day may make things a little on the wet side. Never the less, small blues continue to run the surf line. You know the drill cut bunker and mullet will attract these always hungry blues. Small poppers, small metals and small swimmers are also a good bet... John Yac
