The mullet run increases! With blues and keeper bass in pursuit! The fall run is far from underway but things are coming into shape nicely. Each day an increasing number of mullet are moving down the beach and more fish seem to finding this conveyer of food. Artificial lures seem to work well during the mullet run, two of the top choices are small swimmers and poppers with metals taking third place. Cut bait, especially cut mullet is hot this time of year with bunker and clams coming in second. Crabs are still being taking out back but just not in large numbers. Snapper to cocktail size blues and some small bass are also chasing baits and lures... John Yac

Not many surf fisherman taking advantage of these good conditions right now, with bait starting to build and some blues and local bass starting their chase things are slowly coming together. Lets not forget we still have over a week left in the fluking season there is still plenty of time to put some of those tasty fillets on your table! Crabbers are still picking some nice keepers but expect to put in some time to put a catch together. Along with the snappers out back we have some small bass mixed in... John Yac

Another good looking day! Fluke, blues and albies showing up when you least expect them are what's on tap in the surf right now. All your usual artificial tactics will work on these fish, but it never hurts to have some natural baits along for the ride just to cover all the bases... John Yac

Signs of life along our beaches! Fluke as usual in the closing days of the season always seem to turn on, add to that small to medium blues and some small bass have been reported in IBSP. The icing on the cake though are a few false albacore being taken in the surf yesterday! Crabbing remains slow but catches of keepers are possible if you put in the time... John Yac

Last heat wave of the season?? I sure hope so! Another hot one on tap for us this weekend but with some favorable winds the water should lay down and start to turn things in the right direction. Not much happening in the surf right now but crabbing out back goes on with one crabber yesterday leaving with 19 nice keepers after putting in some time. Blow fish reports from just south of us continues with some nice size fish being caught. Still some snappers to play with in the bay also... John Yac
