The number of fluke in the surf seems to be increasing daily, add to that catches of small blue fish are also on the rise. Not too bad for this time of the year. Buck tail jigs tipped with gulp are accounting for the majority of fluke taken while cut mullet on spiked rods are picking off the passing blues. Fluke may be the number one target right now but the slammer bluefish is always lurking in the shadows. Having a bait rod out for blues doesn't hurt while targeting fluke from the beach. Shark fishing at night in IBSP still goes on and the A 23 beach access road to the inlet remains closed until the first week in August. Crabbing in the bay remains good while the boats are out producing the dock, shore bound crabbers are still putting nice catches together when the put in a little time. Snapper blues are showing up around the big bridge area, fluke are being taken in the BB and BI buoy areas... John Yac
