Fishing Report

Once we get through today the week's forecast looks outstanding! The usual low pressure on our beaches mid week lends itself to some quality surf fishing a far as picking a good looking spot goes. Small blues and some short to keeper size fluke are the only daytime targets right now. There are still those pesky rays around so make sure when you spike your rod the drag is on the loose side. Crabbing remains good while snappers seem to be the only fish in the bay right now... John Yac

The number of fluke in the surf seems to be increasing daily, add to that catches of small blue fish are also on the rise. Not too bad for this time of the year. Buck tail jigs tipped with gulp are accounting for the majority of fluke taken while cut mullet on spiked rods are picking off the passing blues. Crabbing remains steady from the dock and our rental boats and snapper blues are increasing in numbers and size... John Yac

The calm "after" the storm. describes today's weather. Fluke fishing in the surf along with some kingfish is what's happening right now. Large rays at times makes surf fishing interesting. Shark fishing after dark continues. Crabbing in the bay is steady. Still not a lot of snappers or blowfish to talk about in our area... John Yac

HOT- HOT- HOT is the weekend forecast, so standing at the waters edge with rod in hand is surely the place to be! Fluke fishing in the surf is spotty right now and the occasional bluefish just may save the day. Crabbing remains steady with a pick of blowfish and snappers mixed in. But fishing is fishing and I can't think of a better way to spend a hot summers day... John Yac

Fluke may be the number one target right now but the slammer bluefish is always lurking in the shadows. Having a bait rod out for blues doesn't hurt while targeting fluke from the beach. Shark fishing at night in IBSP still goes on and the A 23 beach access road to the inlet remains closed until the first week in August. Crabbing in the bay remains good while the boats are out producing the dock, shore bound crabbers are still putting nice catches together when the put in a little time. Snapper blues are showing up around the big bridge area, fluke are being taken in the BB and BI buoy areas... John Yac
