Fishing for fluke by day surf or boat is the number one target right now. King fish and some blowfish with a occasional small bluefish rounds out the daytime possibilities. Shark fishing has become the night time thing in IBSP. Crabbing in the bay is steady, and some small snapper blues are starting to show... John Yac

Another hot one in the forecast again today. With air temperatures in the high 90's and high humidity in the forecast the ocean's edge is the only place you will get a little relief today. So while your there why not have a rod in your hand and give some fluking a try. All you need is a small rod with a small buck tail tipped with gulp or a natural squid strip and your in business. Remember you are allowed to take (2) 16" fluke from the shore only in IBSP as part of your 5 fluke at 18" bag limit... John Yac

Now that we have the holiday weekend in our rearview mirror we can get back to things at hand. Surf fishing remains a slow pick with small blues and fluke the main targets. The bay is producing some nice catches of blue claw crabs from boats and shore location. Remember we carry live killies throughout the fluke season... John Yac

Get ready here they come! July 4th weekend the celebration of our country's independence marks the beginning of the summer season at the New Jersey shore. When the weather permits the local beaches and businesses will be hopping. The surf fishing right now is so so at best with small blues and fluke being the main targets. Crabbing remains the best bet right now to put a nice meal on the table, with good catches of large crabs coming from our dock and rental boats... John Yac

Small blues seem to be the only game in town for our area surf anglers. First light and dusk seem to be the prime time. Cut mullet and bunker on the bait side while small metals and poppers will cover most situations on the artificial side. Crabbing remains steady from our dock and rental boats. As far as small bottom fish goes from the dock, not much yet to report... John Yac
