The weekend crows are gone so getting your favorite spot to fish with little to no company becomes a reality. Keeper bass and large blues continue to be taken by shore bound anglers both with bait and artificial lures. Cut bunker and clams remains the go to baits, while poppers, swimmers and metals are the lures of choice. Crabbing off the dock remains a pick and blues of mixed sizes roam the bay its just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Fluke are being taken in the inlets by no word about the surf yet. Looking for live killies? We got them... John Yac

Yesterday there was some nice action in the Seaside Hights and Seaside Park areas. Today seams to be same, add Ortley Beach to the mix. Just weighed in a 24.5 lb. bass taken by Alan Kunze on metal from the beach. These are all mid day fish so no excuses guys... John Yac

The fun begins! Official kick off of summer at the jersey shore. Lets not forget what Memorial Day weekend really stands for. Just take a few minutes out of your weekend fun to remember all the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our great country. On the fishing front things have slowed down a bit from the wild bluefish bite we have been enjoying in our area. Reports of some keeper fluke showing up in the inlets. The boats out front trolling bunker spoons are still enjoying a nice bass bite with fish in the upper 30's... John Yac

Short sleeves are in order today finally! Now we can enjoy summer weather while you battle those large blues and just to sweeten the pot a bit nice size bass are finding their way to the scales among all those bluefish. Baits remain cut bunker and clams. On the artificial side, large poppers, SP minnow style swimmers and metals will serve you well... John Yac

Don't let a little rain stop you, grab your rain gear and head for the beach! Big blue fish are attacking just about what ever passes their nose. The number one lure seems to be a large popping plug and the larger the better. Metals and of course cut bunker will always work. There is a few keeper bass being taken but the blues have the spotlight right now. Fluking is just underway and no real reports as of yet. The bay behind IBSP is still producing large blues and the dock out back has a few keeper crabs being taken. We have live killies and sand worms which we will be carrying the rest of the season...
