Better weather will bring more weigh-ins today for sure! There is still plenty of bait in our area with a good amount of bass and blues hot on their heels. It has been a toss up between cut bunker and clams for the number one bait for big fish from the surf. SP Minnows remain the number one swimming plug with large metal lipped swimmers and Polaris style poppers coming in a close second. There is still plenty of time to cash in on this outstanding fall run!... John Yac

The bite yesterday in our area was hot once again! Large bass and blues fell to cut bunker and clams. On the artificial side, swimmers, poppers, metals and rubber swim shads all were taking fish. With the wet weather forecasted for tomorrow todays bite could be another good one! One more thing you might want to add to your bag of tricks is a rod rigged for snagging peanut bunker. These peanuts have been showing up in the wash with large bass and blues hot on their trails... John Yac

To say the bass fishing this fall has been fantastic, is putting it mildly. The passed couple of days proved to be banner days for boat and beach fisherman alike. Weigh-ins from teen fish to 30 lbs. plus kept anglers busy. Bait, plugs, and metals all seem to be working. Add to that trolling large bunker spoons and Mann's stretch 25+ plugs... John Yac

Welcome Hudson River Fisherman's Assn. Good luck today! Bass and small to medium size blues continue to find their way to local scales, there should be some nice fish caught today in the tournament. Bunker chunks and clams are the go to baits. Swimming plugs, poppers and metals are also producing. We have fresh bunker, fresh clams, sand worms and live eels... John Yac

The beat goes on! Nice size bass and blues continue to be taken from our area beaches, just not in the numbers they were last week. Cur bunker and clams are still the go to baits with clams starting to take the lead in this kicked up surf. Swimming plugs and poppers are still taking fish while bottle plugs and darters shine when heavy wave action is present... John Yac
