As you must have heard by now the fall run of striped bass is in full swing in our area. Bunker schools are moving up and down the coast and large bass to 40 lbs. are hot on their trail. The boats are having a field day using the snag and drop method with trollers are also getting their fair share. While the surf guys are scoring on clams and cut bunker in the bait department, swimming plugs SP minnow style and the larger metal lip swimmers are producing some impressive catches... John Yac

The bite is on!! This morning the bunker were pushed in to the beach in the Seaside Ortley beach areas. Hot on their tails are bass in the 12 lb. to 20 lb. class. Bunker chunks along with wide profile metals are scoring on these fish... John Yac

Keeper bass continue to find there way to local scales. Short to keeper size bass are being taken both on natural and artificial baits from Lavallette to IBSP. No real blitz but a steady pic for sure. Beach and water conditions are perfect with only a handful of fisherman taking advantage of the prime conditions... John Yac

Things slowed down just a bit from the past two days. Small to keeper size bass are still being taken on clams and cut baits during all stages of the tide. SP style swimming plugs, metals, and shad and eel imitations are all producing... John Yac
