North west winds today should bring better surf conditions. Things are starting to clean up after the latest NE blow. Keeper bass were being taken yesterday in IBSP on clams and cut bunker. Holding bottom with bait proved to be a bit challenging but not impossible. I gave it a shot yesterday myself just to see what was up and I pulled a keeper out on a bunker chunk. Were still a bit early and the main body of fish has not arrived yet. Don't be lazy and wait for your buddy to call, get out there and check things out for yourself.

Remember the fish are already wet! Yes, rain gear needed today and tomorrow according to the forecast. But easterly winds and rain don't seem to bother the fish much just the fisherman. The bite remains the best at dusk, through the night and at first light. Swimming plugs and metals will suit you fine as lure selection goes. Cut bunker and clams are working well for the bait guys. More and more keepers are being taken daily and November once again seems to be the target month!... John Yac

Feels like fall, but that's a good thing. With cooling air temperatures along with dropping water temperatures and add to that plenty of bait, these three factors should increase the bass bite in our area. Not much doing on daylight tides right now but low light and first light is a different matter. Small to keeper size bass are falling to cut baits and SP style swimming plugs. This bite is no blitz by any means but a good indication that the fish are moving into our area... John Yac
