Fishing conditions good with some fish cooperating. Small blues and small bass remain the cry coming from our beaches. You know the drill, cut mullet and small metals by day for the blues. Possible rain gear day! Only 20% chance but better safe than sorry. Still some small blues taken cut mullet and small metals. More and more short bass are being reported, while clams during the day seems to be the ticket, swimming plugs are catching them on night tides right up to first light. Also live eels fished in likely bass haunts during night tides will at times surprise! Crabs are still being taken off the dock by those willing to put in the time. Live eels, sand worms, fresh bunker and clams, mullet and soon live green crabs are just some of the baits available at our shop... John Yac

The big girls are starting to make their appearance! Yes striped bass up to 28 lbs. were taken just off shore the last couple of days. Yes, you guessed it, snag and drop was the method used. The surf on the other hand is producing small to medium size blues on cut mullet. Metals and poppers will also work on these blues. They are still picking keeper crabs off our dock along with small blow fish. Looking for live eels or really nice sand worms look no further, we also have fresh frozen mullet, fresh bunker and clams. Just about back on track! The water has cleaned up some, the surf is manageable, now and all that is needed is a little more sand on some of our beaches. For the fisherman that have ventured out, short bass on clams and some small blues mostly on mullet was the rewards for their efforts. We have fresh and salted clams, live eels, frozen mullet and vacuum packed bunker. Some keeper crabs are still available from our dock and small blowfish are being taken now and then... John Yac

Much better fishing day! With each passing tide the water will become more and more fishable. Things will go back to normal we hope, with the bait fish running the shore line and hungry fish hot in pursuit.
