The final blow out weekend at the shore! If you decide to come down any time this weekend make sure you get a early start. The ocean is starting to show signs of fall migrating baits already. Schools of rain fish (glass minnows) and a early run of mullet has been spotted. Fluke have been spotty but as we get later into September the bigger boys should show. Small blues are at the southern part of the park and along the back side. Crabbing remains some what steady with snappers, blow fish and baby black drum for those who want to try.... John Yac

Hot again!, but what else is new? The fluking in the IBSP has pick up a bit with reports of some 2 lb. plus fish in the surf. There are also a few 2 to 5 lb. blues being taken on the bay side. Remember IBSP ONLY! 2 fluke at 16" as part of your 5 fish 18" daily bag limit. Crabbing from our dock and rental boats remains decent, with snapper blues keeping the kids busy... John Yac

With all this heat and humidity comes southerly winds which is no friend to the surf fisherman. These winds have a tendency to lower water temps just enough to put the fish off their feed, not a good thing for the surf bound angler. But here we are in the summer mode now and we just have to ride things out. Fluking in the surf is a slow pick and sharks and rays at night have also slowed down a bit. Crabbing is still a matter of weeding through a ton of small crabs to put together a catch. Small snapper blues remain consistent from our dock... John Yac
