Fishing Report

Surf conditions have improved some with the shift away from the easterly winds. Small to medium size bluefish continue to be the dominate surf bite. Fluke should be moving in with the improved surf conditions and the bass bite, the few that we do have in our area seems to be a night time thing. Bluefish in the bay are still keeping anglers busy both from boats and the shore line. Crabbing is slowly improving. Bluefish in the bay seems to be where all the action is right now. The poor ocean conditions due to the sustained easterly winds has turned off the bite out front for now. A shift in the winds and a couple of tide changes will no doubt put things back on track. Crabbing out back remains a work in progress... John Yac

Good day to give it a try! Overcast, easterly winds and no real rain in the forecast. Not to mention the back side of the June full moon. These conditions may just trigger a daytime bass bite! So get out there if you can and don't just sit home waiting for the phone to ring. We have fresh bunker, fresh clams and sand worms. Rain gear day for sure! Still slow on the beaches with a scattering of blues and fluke for some picking. The bass bite seems to have moved to a night time thing right now. Fishing Report

The bay continues to keep anglers busy with a mix of all size bluefish. From the sedge islands to Tom's River blues are being taken on cut baits, poppers and metals. The ocean front is slow to recover, fishing remains a slow pic with no real fluke catches to report. Crabs out back are slow getting started but persistent crabbers are starting to catch some nice keepers. We have some custom tied killer buck tail rigs for fluke in our shop along with Captains Captain Ed's "Doodle Bug", the fluke killer! ... John Yac
