The blue fish attack has definitely slowed down, but they are not gone by any means! Cut baits and popping plugs are still scoring on these tackle busters, just not in the numbers they have been. Short to keeper size bass are still being taken on clams. Remember the Governor's Cup Tournament is this Sunday in IBSP and our shop will be open late Saturday evening and early Sunday morning for all your fishing needs... John Yac

Blue fish are still being taken along our beaches and bay areas. Keeper bass remain in the mix, it's just hard to get passed the blues. Cut baits, swimming and popping plugs along with metals are doing the trick on these fish. Still no crabs out back, but that should change any day... John Yac

The big blues are not only out front but also still in the bay! This weekend we had two gents from Pa. weather the AM fog and rent one of our boats, 4 hours later they were cleaning 6 nice size blues out back. Not bad for their 1st trip of the season! Large blues with a sprinkle of some nice keeper bass are out front daily. Pick your method of attack, bait or lures and hit the beach!... John Yac

The blue fish massacre continues! Blue fishing to my memory hasn't been this hot with these size fish in these numbers for quite some time. Just about anything you throw out from cut bait to anything you have in your tackle bag will be taken by this massive eating machine that has been roaming our beaches and bay areas. It's hard to tell but larger size keeper bass have also moved in, bass in the 20 to 30 lb. class are taking bunker spoons on the troll, while high teens to mid twenty lb. bass in the surf are falling to swimming plugs and cut baits, that is if you can get them passed the blue fish!! While all this hot action is going on don't forget our (Heaviest Fish) weighed in each month will receive a $50.00 store gift card! Good Luck!... John Yac

Now that's what you call Blue Fish!! Fish anywhere from 5 lbs. to 19 lbs. made there way to the scales yesterday from Ortley Beach to IBSP. The highlight of the day for our shop was Tim Harmon's 36" 18.15 lb. striped bass caught on a bunker chunk. Tim is leading our monthly heaviest fish contest with a shot at winning a $50.00 gift card, keep that in mind when you land a monster it may be worth a trip to our scale. Bunker and clams are not the only baits that are working on these fish. Poppers, swimmers and metals are all good choices right now... John Yac
