Fishing Report

Rain gear is a must today when heading out to the surf. Small blues are everywhere chasing schools of rain fish with more reports of short to keeper size bass coming in daily. The boats just off shore and just north of us are starting to play the snag and drop game over schools of bunker, bass in the low 30's have been taken. We are still catching medium size blues on cut mullet of the dock in the evenings... John Yac

Not much has changed in the past few days in the surf. Small to medium size blues and short to keeper size bass are still showing up here and there. The surf is back to normal after the week of strong easterly winds. The methods for catching these fish are remain the same. Mullet and bunker for the blues along with poppers and metals. Clams and bunker for the bass along with swimming plugs and metals... John Yac

Still plenty of small blues out there with a ever increasing number of small to keeper size bass. The blues are being taken on cut bait, poppers and metals. While the bass are on clams, small swimmers and metals fished with teasers. The dock out back has been producing some nice medium size blues on cut mullet mostly in the evenings. Remember if you are looking for live eels to add to your fall bag of tricks we will be carrying them right through the season... John Yac

We heard of a couple of keeper bass taken in our area yesterday but none hit our scales as of yet. Still some blues around to keep you occupied while you wait for your first keeper bass of the fall run. The bass were taken on clams and small swimmers right in close while the blues will always chase poppers and metals but cut mullet and bunker are hard for them to pass up. The bay has been slow with reports of small bass being taken on the back side of IBSP on swimmers and metal... John Yac
