Fishing Report

Not much to talk about today except for the outstanding weather we have been enjoying. Even though the bite along our beaches has come to a crawl, fishing along our beaches is still the place to be. With a keeper bass or a blue fish being taken here and there and the fluke size in the surf getting smaller. Great time to take advantage of the new fluke regulations in Island Beach State Park (2) fish at 16" caught from the surf only and must be checked in at a weigh station about a mile south of the gate before you leave. Small blues still roam the areas behind IBS and love taking those small popping plugs. Crabbing is improving daily with more and more keepers going home with happy crabbers... John Yac

One outstand surf fishing day after another, weather wise that is, and today will be no different. Fluke have been keeping fisherman busy along the surf, small blues are being taken in the bay behind IBS. Fluke fishing in the BB and BI buoy areas remains a steady pick. Crabbing out back off our dock and rental boats started to show some signs of improvement yesterday with some nice keepers going to crabbers who were willing to put in some time. Buck tail jigs tipped with ether gulp or squid are working on the fluke. While small poppers and small metals are doing the trick on the blues... John Yac

Summer time surf fishing seems to be the mode we are in now, but the occasional striped bass making its presents known is keeping things interesting. Fluke fishing in the surf improves daily. Anglers should be taking advantage of the new (2) fluke at 16" being allowed in Island Beach State Park, just remember to have the fish tagged at the check station located about 1 mile south of the entrance gate before leaving the park... Fishing Report

The pick goes on! A few nice keeper bass were taken yesterday along with some tasty fluke in the areas of Island Beach State Park. The blue fish bite seems to have migrated into the bay with small to medium size fish being taken in the areas of Oster Creek and along the back side of IBSP. You also have a shot at some nice keeper fluke being taken in the same areas. Crabbing is stuck in slow mode with small catches going to those willing to put in some time...John Yac

Fishing Report

After a pretty productive spring run is seems we are getting into the summer hit or miss days in the surf. Fluke continue to put bends in anglers rods while blues and bass seem to be dropping off in our area. The bay still has a pick of small to medium size blues and fluke in the usual spots. Cut baits and clams still is the way to go in the surf, while small poppers, buck tail jigs and swimmers will sometimes produce in both areas. The crabbing is slow from our dock and rental boats, definitely not a early season blitz as we experienced last year... John Yac
