Things remain pretty much the same and for once thats not a bad thing. Blue fish and striped bass remain the main targets in the surf. Keeper bass and all size blue fish are being taken on cut bunker and clams. Large poppers and a assortment of different metals will work on the artificial side....
PS: We are still looking for some sales help in the shop. Afternoons till closing 4 days a week around 32 hours. Call 732-830-8171 and ask for Tom or John and don't forget to visit us on Facebook now!.... John Yac

It sure was a great weekend for the Jersey Shore, great weather and good fishing! Sunday afternoon a 47.5 lb bass made its way to our scale, the fish was caught out front by boat on bunker. With less of a crowd and a decent forcast, today should be a great one to be at the waters edge with a fishing rod in hand... John Yac

LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. Happy Memorial Day! The weather is great and the fish are cooperating what more can a angler possibly want? Small to teen size blues continue to roam the surf along with keeper size bass. We can now add to that mix a few nice size fluke that are starting to show up in the surf, so you might want to add some Gulp to your bait selection before heading to the beach. The shop has fresh bunker and clams along with our full line of frozen goodies. Still not much doing out back, some small blues were taken off our dock yesterday.... John Yac

And the beat goes on!! Blue fish and bass in the surf from Lavallette to Island Beach State Park. Boats are still taking the lions share of the larger bass being cought. The bay out back behind our shop produced a few nice blues taken on cut baits and metals yesterday. Still no real crabs to speak of as yet, but we expect them to start any day. Small catches of keeper size crabs are coming from lagoons just off the bay in overnight traps. We have plenty of fresh bunker, clams and all kinds of frozen baits. Large Gibbs Pro Series pencil and polaris poppers are now in stock... John Yac

The largest bass being cought during this spring run are still coming from the boats. Trolling large bunker spoons or using the snag and drop method, case in point, Al Siegel weighed in a 35 lb and a 25 lb bass taken from a kayak. Blues from 4 lbs to 14 lbs are still being taken from the beaches with keeper size bass mixed in. Fresh bunker and clams on the bait side of things, metal, poppers and swimmers on the artificial side.... John Yac
