Fishing Report

No fish weighed in at our shop yesterday. Our area was slow, just a couple of shorts in the Ortley Beach area caught by Phil "Dirt" is all I have to report. Still plenty of sand eels around and a keeper or two were taken just to the north of us is enough reason to keep fishing before our long winter rest. I feel there will be one more shot of some quality fish before the run is over.   John Yac

No better way to work off that big Thanksgiving day meal than to hit the beach and make a few casts. Fishing has been slow the last few days and the bad weather conditions didn't help much, but a better forcast for today and still plenty of bait in the water may yield  better results. Avas, and Sp minnows fished with teasers or any thin metal and small swimmer presented in the same way will also do. Bait fishing always remains a option with clams and cut bunker being two of the baits of choice. We also have live green crabs and live eels. Remember our Black Friday sale on some great items is now underway and will last till year's end.   John Yac

It was a little slow yesterday with the weather conditions on the surf but maybe things will change today. If your going out bundle up. We have fresh clams, eels, and green crabs as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your fishing needs. We have sales on many items in stock so stop in and check it out. Happy Thanksgiving from the staff at the Doock Outfitters. Mario

I expect only the hardy souls will be out today fishing. There were a few keeper bass in the 30" range taken in IBSP yesterday on, yes you guessed it, Avas and SP minnows. We're hoping after this mess moves out tonight that we will get another shot of fish before it ends. Still pleanty of sand eels in close so why not? Our shop will be open tomorrow at 5 AM. Come on in and check out our Black Friday Sale now in progress! Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.   John Yac

Fishing Report

Slow slow pick! Just a week ago we thought how many fish are out there and how can it possibly get better than this? Boy what a difference a week makes, ocean conditions still look good but no fish to speak of or at least were weighed in the past two days. Today with a little better air temperatures and a front approaching maybe things will pick up a bit. Still sand eels are the predominant bait out there so keep the avas and teasers flying. SP style minnows also fished with teasers will work when the fish are in close and the wind permits.   John Yac        Our BLACK FRIDAY SALE! starts now and runs till the end of the year with some great deals just in time for Christmas. 8' Star surf spin rods med. 1/2oz - 3oz $69.95 ea. - 10% to 30% off selected premium brand surf rods - 10% off premium rain tops - 25% off all wooden plugs in stock.
