Despite the conditions yesterday with the wind we had a few fish come in to the shop. Metal and teaser did the trick. If your going out today bundle up. We have fresh clams and live eels as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your fishing needs.

Keeper bass are still being caught along our beach fronts, but just not the numbers of earlier in the week. The majority of fish are on avas or just about any skinny metal fished with a teaser. SP style swimmers also with teasers are producing when the fish are in close. A couple of nice fish were taken on clams, also a nice fresh bunker chunk doesen't hurt either. You can always fish live eels a all time favorite of striped bass.

The last two days bass fishing in our area has been off the charts! Fish have been spread out from Lavallette to the north down to Island Beach State Park to the south. 10lb to 15lb fish are the average size with upper teens to 20lb plus mixed in. All the action seems to be on Ava's in several colors. John Pizzuto of Toms River weighed in the largest fish for us so far, 29.5 lbs taken on metal with a rubber tail at 10:00 AM. The bait fisherman are picking away also with clams, cut bunker and a few live eels mixed in. John Yac

Plenty of keeper sized bass taken today from Lavalette thru IBSP... We had blitz conditions to the north with fish from 28-36", with some larger fish mixed in, caught on metals and teasers... I got to the party late and fished with Ray Linn and Mike the Trooper and had a personal best from the sand of @30# on a metal, that was released, to go with plenty of keepers. Those guys were there at sunup and had fish consistently right thru 10:30AM.. Look for things to heat up again this evening and again in the AM... Now is the time so get out there and fish!!!... If you have been waiting for things to get started, well wait no more. We have been enjoying a nice body of keeper bass on our local beaches the past couple of days. They have been taking thin metals with teasers, needle fish with teasers, small swimming plugs with teasers, note the two constants here thin lures and thin teasers. The bass that have been cleaned at our shop were all stuffed with sand eels. Clams and cut bunker are still scoring well and you know that lazy cow that may be learking out their just can't pass up a well presented piece of bait. We have live green crabs and live eels also. Just got a shipment of Trail Head tire deflators in so why not shorten your time it takes you to get on the beach! This is a quality product that works well. John Yac
