A few nice bass were taken this morning on live eels. With the water temps dropping things should start to improve. We have fresh clams, live eels and sandworms as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your fishing needs.

Still a slow pick with most fish being caught on the evening tides. SP Minnows fished with teasers along with any sand eel style metal also fished with a teaser are the lures doing the job right now. As for bait fishing clams and cut bunker, live eels and sand worms will all do the trick anytime on any tide when the fish are present. Good luck today to all the HRFA tournament anglers. John Yac

Slow seems to be the word on the beach, things are just not popping as of yet. A quick look into the record books shows that the 1st week in November seems to be the average starting date for us down here when the fall run really get started and peaking around the third to fourth week of the month. Of course nothing is etched in stone, but where just talking guide lines. Remember the shop will be open tonight till 11:00 PM nd re-open tomorrow at 4:30 AM for all your fishing needs. John Yac

A slight chill this morning but be assured the bass don't mind it a bit. Just before first light and after dark seems to be a pattern these last few days. Some nice bass in close taking swimming plugs fished with teasers of course are being reported. The day time bite seems to be a little slower but fish are being caught never the less. Clams and cut bait are the way to go while playing the waiting game durning the day. The Hudson River surf fishing tournament is this Saturday Oct. 26th in Seaside Park, Registration will be at the Municipal Court Room at Seaside Park municipal complex, from 5:30 AM to 7: 00 AM. The shop will be open till 11:00 PM Fri Oct 25th and open at 4:30 AM Sat Oct 26th for all your fishing needs. John Yac

Bring your rain gear today just in case! Light rain forcasted for late morning, but the two positives in this forcast are, no fair weather fisherman and overcast skies, both great for daytime fishing. Sand eels are what the bass are feeding on but a nice chunk of fresh bunker or a couple of fresh clams are hard for them to pass up. If you want to break away from the standard baits you can try fishing a live eel on a open beach, they work for one of the largest bass to date this fall was taken this way, 29 1/2 lbs. We have fresh bunker, clams, sand worms and live eels. Remember today is Wednesday and our clams are only $3.75 a dozen. John Yac
