Fishing Report

The wind is finally slowing down, although still out of the NE but much more fishable. There has been a few bass taken on clams and heavy metal fished with teasers. As the week progresses the wind will go south and then west and finally north west. I beleive this much needed shift in wind direction will bring both bait and fish to our beaches. We have fresh clams, live eels, and sand worms along with a large selection of frozen bait. Still a few nice surf rods left that are on sale and the wooden plugs are going but still pleanty to choose from. John Yac

Tough conditions out front in the surf this past weekend but hopefully things will change this week.
A few cocktail blues were caught in the back as well as some snappers from the dock.

The caution flag is still up and so is the surf! Another day of this NE blow and many of us are getting restless longing to get back to normal fall fishing knowing that the bass and blue fish run is ready to start in our area. Should you venture out today as always use caution and carry a big stick and lures to match the conditions. John Yac

Not much different than yesterday! The forcast remains the same, high NE winds and rain not your perfect day for the beach but some what attractive. You never know what you may pull out of that mess in front of you when you throw in a heavy piece of metal or a big bottle plug. All that white water and wave action sure makes many great ambush points for a hungry bass to feed. This type of surf fishing requires heavy equipment and much caution on the anglers part. The heavy waves crashing the beach and the strong pull as they receed makes for a dangerous situation should you loose your footing! All and all it's still worth a try as long as you use caution. These are the times that test our surfcasting stamina! Big sticks 10 1/2' to 11 1/2' that are capable of throwing large metals and large polaris and bottle style plugs. This style of surf fishing is not for the faint of heart but it has paid off time and time again when large bass who love everything being dug up and tossed around look for a easy meal. John Yac
