These are the times that test our surfcasting stamina! Big sticks 10 1/2' to 11 1/2' that are capable of throwing large metals and large polaris and bottle style plugs. This style of surf fishing is not for the faint of heart but it has paid off time and time again when large bass who love everything being dug up and tossed around look for a easy meal. John Yac

Mullet are back in the wash at IBSP. The surf fishing this week will be challenging to say the least. 6oz to 8oz sinkers on your bait rigs and large bottle plugs, polaris poppers, and weghted needle fish on the plug side. Large metals as #4 deadly dicks and Ava 27s will be required. The strong NE winds forcasted for the remainder of this week might be just the thing to move some of those northern bass down, stir things up a bit and get a fall bite started in our area. John Yac

The cooler nights are a sure welcome, fall tempertures are just around the corner. They are catching keeper bass north of us in Long Branch and above, the fish are taking swimmers fished with teasers. Sand eels are present and are being found in the fish that are being taken. As for our area, we are still picking away at short to keeper size bass and small blues. Our rod and wooden plug sale is still on with some great deals still available on both. We are now carrying live eels and will have them the remainder of the season

Fishing was a little slow yesterday on the surf but hopefully that will change any day. We have fresh clams, bunker, sandworms and live eels as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your fishing needs.
Snappers continue to keep anglers happy for those fishing for them on the dock.
