Small blues still lead the bite on our beaches right now, they just can't resist chasing and feeding on those schools of mullet. Still some nice size keeper fluke in the mix. Stripped bass although mostly shorts are taking small swimmers, teasers and clams. Crabbing in the bay is tuff, some catches are being reported in the Ortley, Lavallette areas. Our surf rod sale is still going on with some great prices on some top quality rods.

The last few days of the fluke season seems to be going out with a bang judging from the nice size fish coming out of IBSP. If fluke is your thing don't waste any time you only have till Tuesday the 24th to get in on the action. The mullet run is in full swing with blue fish hot on their heels. There has been several small bass taken along with a few keepers, most of the bass have been taken on teasers fished ahead of the metal of your choice. We have custom tied teaser rigs in the shop and don't forget to check out our 10% to 20% off premium surf rod sale just in time for the fall run. John Yac

Striped bass are moving into our area, not alot as yet but keepers never the less. Small blues are chasing the mullet schools but what I think the really good news is sand eels are also present. Several of the blue fish cleaned at our store had sand eels in their stomach's. You know what kind of a fall run we had when there were large schools of sand eels present. Sharpen up those teasere and long metals here we go! John Yac

Mullet up and down the beaches with few fisherman on them and even fewer fish. With mullet now running our beaches a sure sign the fall run is about to get underway! Make sure your tackle is up to par and your lures and hooks are ready to go. What ever you might be missing we have in our shop at great prices. Last week for fluke so if you want some great eats don't waste any time hit the beaches with your bucktail jigs and gulp in hand. John Yac
