Last so called weekend of the summer so let's make the best of it! Larger sized blue fish have moved into the surf along with the nice keeper size fluke that most anglers have been after. So break out your poppers and larger sized metals. The shark bit at night in IBSP is still on. Crabbing is still a work in progress and keepers are still being caught if you are willing to work through all those shorts. Bottom fishing in the bay both from our dock and boats remains good with blow fish, snapper blues, spots and king fish all increasing in size.   John Yac

Fishing Report

Tired of catching sharks and skates in IBSP at night? Why no cash in on some good end of season fluke fishing. There is some larger fish in the wash now and the bucktail gulp combo fished with a teaser of your choice is still the number one way to go. Snapper blues seem to be everyware and catching them and useing them for fluke bait has produced some nice large fluke both in the inlets and along the beaches. Crabbing in the bay still requires some working at bottom fishing is still holding it's own.  John Yac

Fishing Report

This early weather will pass! The wind will be NE for most of the day and may just move in some bait to kick up things a bit. Still some nice fluke being taken along the shore line mixed with small blues. We were told a few sharks have been showing up in the light of day also. Night time shark bite on cut bunker has been steady in IBSP. Crabbing and fishing remains the same in the bay as I have been reporting.    John Yac

Bucktail jigs tipped with gulp, squid or snapper blue filets will do the trick on the flatties, just walk and cast to likely looking spots along the surf line. The blues and small bass are taking sand eel style metals, ava's, deadly dicks and T-Hex to name a few. Sharks in IBSP are still chomping on bunker chunks at night! Crabbing in the bay is a hit and miss afair right now the game is find where the keepers are among all those shorts. Fishing on the other hand is keeping anglers busy both from shore and boat. Snapper blues seem to be all over while spot, croakers and king fish are also present. Nice size blow fish still roam the BB and BI buoy areas along with some good size fluke being caught south of the buoys twards the inlet. We have fresh bunker, clams and sand worms along with our large frozen selection including clam chum.  John Yac
