Slow pick of bass and bluefish for our area fisherman, and to thin out the fisherman even more rain gear will be required today. If the nice keeper bass that have been keeping the boat and surf fisherman happy just north of us would just slide a little south. Cut bait and clams are still leading the pack on the ocean side while small poppers and metal are the way to go in the bay. Blue fish in the 2 to 4lb range and a nice catch of blow fish seem to be keeping the bay fisherman happy. Today is the calm before the storm. A great early weather forecast ahead of a approaching front from our south just may wake up the sleeping fish off our shores. The pick has been slow lately with only a few keepers taken each day. The bay is producing small blue fish on small poppers and metal. The crabbing seems to be starting with some decent keepers taken yesterday. We have live eels, sand worms, fresh bunker and clams along with a large selection of frozen baits....John Yac

Bunker schools are starting to move in within casting distance of the beach but no real fish to speak of on them. The pick remains slow with bait still being the way to go due to the cool ocean temps. Bring your large pencil poppers and weighted snags with you just encase the need arises. There are some nice bass out there waiting to be caught along with some blues. Bunker and clams are still what they want for the most part. We have fresh bunker and clams as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your fishing needs. The back is still producing blues mostly on cut bunker. Mario

Fishing Report

It's becoming a hit or miss game on our beaches right now. Some nice keeper bass and blues are being taken when schools of bunker come in close, but as they move off so do the fish. Cut bait and clams are still accounting for the lion's share of fish. Artificial lures are a real hit or miss possibly due to the still cool water temps. The back bay is a different story blue fish and bass are chasing metal and small swimming plugs and are also taking cut bait fished right on the bottom. Some nice catches of blow fish are being reported in the BB buoy area along with blue fish in the 2 to 5 lb range...John Yac
