With more heat forecasted for today the beach is definitely the place to be. SE winds will keep flies at bay and your body cool. You can spike up a couple of rods and fish cut bunker or mullet for some bluefish action, or cast bucktail gulp combos for fluke. If you should find yourself in the area of the inlet, casting metals from the rocks may produce a albacore or mackerel at times. They are still picking keeper crabs and snapper blues out back off our dock... John Yac
FYI >>> The Waterside Café has new hours of operation. We will be open Wednesday thru Sunday, we will start serving at 7 AM and will close at 2 PM.

First day to reclaim your favorite honey hole! With summer crowds now in our rearview mirror we can now fish or crab in our favorite spots with little to no hassle. Fluking remains good in the surf with blues and small bass mixed in. There are some mackerel showing up in Barnegat Inlet, while blow fishing mixed with some kingfish at times in the BB, BI buoy areas remains steady. Crabbing out back and from our rental boats remains a slow pick!... John Yac

Easterly winds will produce some nice white water today not to mention no flies! Keeper fluke along with small to medium size blues are still being taken in the surf. Add to that, the word of a few albies showing up now and then just to keep things interesting. Crabbing out back and from our rental boats remains slow, you are still getting keepers but just have to work a little harder. Snapper blues along with a few eating size blowfish are being taken off our dock... John Yac

Another 3-H day for sure! The few hardy souls who dared to venture out yesterday were picking some small fluke and small blues according to one of our customers. Very few fish were taken by him and his buddy. Fall can't come soon enough for me with it's cool crisp mornings and NW winds blowing over your left shoulder. Large schools of adult bunker with fish busting on them and whales breaching, it's coming, but for now it's nice to dream! Crabbing and snappers are slow out back... John Yac

The dreaded three H's are upon us, hazy, hot and humid! Yes the next three days are forecasted to be brutal, so stay well hydrated, wear loose light colored clothing and rest often. If air conditioning is making you crazy, try standing knee deep in the surf with a rod in your hand and hopefully you'll forget about the oppressive heat back on land. Small to keeper size fluke and snapper to tailor size blues are cruising the surf. Crabbing outback and off our rental boats is improving... John Yac
