Fishing Report

The spring run seems to be heating up! The back bay in the last few days have been giving up some quality fish. Blues up to 10 lbs and the biggest bass our shop has weighted in from the bay hit the scales at 18 lbs yesterday. The fish was caught by Phil Dirt on fresh cut bunker fished right on the bottom, Phil also had a 11 lb bass . The action is spread out from the 37 bridge areas to Oyster Creek. As far as Island Beach State Park goes it has extended its hours and access areas, they are now open at 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM and you may fish down as far as area A-23. Reports of keeper size bass was on the rise yesterday from the park where the fish were taking clams fished on HI - LO rigs....John Yac

Fishing Report

The number of keeper bass caught in the park yesterday were on the rise. A few blue fish were in the mix in the 8 to 10 lb range. Clams on a high low rigs are doing it for the bass while fresh cut bunker accounted for several of the blue fish. Buck tail jigs are producing in the bay on keeper size bass in the Oyster creek area. We have a full selection of fresh bait, clams, bunker, blood and sand worms along with a full line of frozen choices. PS -  Still looking for a jet ski and yard maintenance help must have boating license. Call the dock ask for Tom.

Fishing Report

Looks like a nice couple of days coming up with lower winds and good AM tides to go along with the 8 AM to 6PM Island Beach State Park hours of operation. We are hoping this will change soon and go back to business as usual in the park. The same body of fish seem to be in place as in the past week. Blue fish and bass in the bay and short to keeper size bass in the ocean. Clams and cut bait will do the trick in both locations, while swimming plugs in the ocean and rubber tailed jigs in the bay are your artificial choices. John Yac    P.S. More and more anglers are starting to fish Island Beach State Park each day. Short bass with some keepers mixed in is whats going on at this time. The back bay still is producing blues on cut bunker in the Toms River to Oyster Creek areas. Clams fished on the rig of your choice in the ocean will work and bunker chunks fish on the bottom with no floats is the way to go in the bay. Swimming plugs are still producing in both areas. Blue fish were caught in the bay yesterday on cut bunker. The fish were in the 4 to 10 lb range. There has been bunker from Toms River area to Oyster Creek. Action in Island Beach State Park remains the same, small to keeper size bass on clams. Swimming plugs will work on both the blue fish in the bay and the bass in the ocean when conditions allow...
