Some nice 30lb class bass in our area as shown by yesterday's kayak action in our local waters. Now all we need is for the fish to drive those bunker schools within casting distance of the beach and us surf bound anglers will be in business. Snag an drop is the way to go, but a rod out with a nice fresh bunker chunk can't hurt while you wait ... John Yac

Well the kayak boys are putting it to em again today. Bass were crashing bunker off ortley beach and seaside and the kayakers got them good. Ray Linn and Al are here now cleaning 4 30lbers. These fish could push the bunker to the beach anytime now so get out there! Scott

Looks like the start of a great weekend. We have fresh bunker and clams. Just got a call from one of our beach regulars... the bunker are between Lavallette and Ortley beach and they seem to have fish on them. We weighed in a 32lb bass last night from a boat on bunker south of here. So it looks like all the pieces are coming together for a good up coming week !

Tomorrow is opening day fluke season already! We are fully stocked with all different types of squid, nice local spearing, and a full line Gulp and bucktails ready for your needs. More fresh bunker is coming in this afternoon as well as clams. There is a bit of a swell in the ocean but not enough to be bad. I heard of some bluefish being caught yesterday morning in the ortley beach area on fresh bunker chunks. We haven't seen any bunker here behind the dock yet today but who knows what later will bring. More of the early spring time pattern still in progress... the boat guys getting the shots at the fish on bunker schools... and the beach guys grinding out a few keepers on bait... Today is the last day to give those black fish a shot... FRESH bunker due in today... John Yac
