Rain or shine, boat or surf when the fish are here the bite is on. Yesterday's beautiful sunshine brought a 39 lb. 48" bass to our scale. This beauty was trolled up on a bunker spoon by Steve Juliano and Dan Leston trolling out front. This morning in the poring rain, the Ortley surf produced a nice size bass on a clam see (The Dock Outfitters Instagram for picture). The bluefish bite out back off the dock and from boats anchored up in the nearby vicinity continues. The blues range from cocktail size to double digit slammers, cut baits off the dock and cut baits and poppers from the boats seem to be the ticket!... John Yac

The dock out back has been hot! Blue fish, blue fish, blue fish! is the cry coming off the dock. All last night and so far today, cocktail and larger size blues are taken cut bunker fished right on the bottom. IBSP has already giving up some nice flatties from the surf, definitely a good sign!... John Yac

A little quit yesterday in the surf compared to the past several days. The good news is! - Fluke season opens today and will run through September 22. The bag limit remains 3 fish at 18" with IBSP continuing their special fluke program, 2 fish at 16" from the beach or jetty only!! The bay bite is still good with a mix of cocktail and larger size blues, mix in some small bass behind IBSP and in the bridge areas... John Yac

Nice weather and decent fishing, what more can we ask for? Not that everyone who ventures out in pursuit of fish is going home with catch in hand, but a good percentage are. Bait is still out fishing artificial lures, but both are producing never the less. The boat guys trolling bunker spoons are starting to catch. Case in point, John Pedone trolling spoons out front yesterday got into some quality fish. His biggest one broke the 40 lb. class, nice going John! Check out the picture of this fish on our Facebook page... John Yac
