Nice weather and decent fishing, what more can we ask for? Not that everyone who ventures out in pursuit of fish is going home with catch in hand, but a good percentage are. Bait is still out fishing artificial lures, but both are producing never the less. The boat guys trolling bunker spoons are starting to catch. Case in point, John Pedone trolling spoons out front yesterday got into some quality fish. His biggest one broke the 40 lb. class, nice going John! Check out the picture of this fish on our Facebook page... John Yac

The spring bite continues! Bass and blues continue to take bait and lures alike along our beaches out front. The bay from behind IBSP north to the Mathis / Tunney Bridge has been producing bass and blues also on bait and lures... John Yac

Fishing out front and back in the bay is on the upward tick for sure. The bay out back of us has produced some nice slammer blues in the double digit weight class. These fish are being taken both from the dock and from boats just off the dock out by the channel area. The dock action is all on bait so far while the boats were throwing poppers. Some keeper crabs are showing their faces in local overnight traps, always a good sign!... John Yac

Those who were willing to brave the elements yesterday were rewarded with some nice fish. Bait fishermen needed 10 oz. plus sinkers to keep their baits out in front of them yesterday while the plug guys were throwing anything that would pierce into the wind. Some nice blues showed up off the end of our dock yesterday on cut bunker. We have plenty of fresh bunker and clams for tomorrows Governor's Cup surf tournament in IBSP...John Yac

Bait, bait and more bait!! Was the cry yesterday out front on our beaches. Fresh cut bunker and clams was definitely the way to go to get into some nice keeper bass yesterday. The bay remains a hit and miss on small bass and blues and still no crabs to speak of... John Yac
