Great weather forecasted for today! Bait is starting to appear out front and that's always a good sign. The bay is still producing small to keeper size bass on both bait and lures alike. Small to keeper size bass seem to be spread out in the back bay in all the usual spots. The number one bait for these spring bass is blood worms by far, with small swimmers and rubber jigs also doing the job. No bluefish action as of yet but that should change real soon... Fresh bunker are finely in along with nice size bloodworms and fresh clams. No blues yet. The bay is giving up small bass mostly on blood worms and black fish fever as of April 1st. 4 fish per man at 15" is drawing some attention. Finally some warmer weather! We have sand worms at $13.50 a doz., large surf clams at $7.00 a doz. and fresh bunker will arrive today! No real news on the spring bluefish run yet, but that should change any day. The bay is loaded with bait and small bass in all the usual spots...John Yac

This is my first hello for the new season! Feels good to be back! Small bass are spread out in the back bay, with the bridge areas, the mouth of Toms River and the back of IBSP all being good early season spots. Adult bunker are in the bay in the area of Oyster Creek and have been spotted in many other locations. Blood worms and small rubber jigs are doing the trick on the small bass. We are in the process of getting the shop ready for the new season with some great BLOW OUT SALES! on rods and reels. Blood worms are in stock! We will be open at 7AM Wednesday thru Sunday for now.
