Fishing Report

Yesterday morning was the start of things to come!! Schools of rain fish, mullet, peanuts and full size bunker appeared from Ortley Beach right through IBSP with whales and keeper size bass hot on their trail. This action was within casting distance at times to allow the few anglers that were lucky to be in the right place at the right time to score a few keeper bass. Snag and drop along with large pensile and polaris style poppers accounted for most of the fish taken. No more excuses! Things will only improve from here on out, so grab a rod and keep a watch out for bird and bait activity... John Yac

Fishing Report

A few nice teen size bass have been finding their way to local scales! These fish have been taken on SP minnow style swimmers and cut bunker. This bite has been a evening activity so far. We are also hearing of small weakfish in the surf, a great time to fish a well placed sand worm rig along with your plugging activity. Yes we have nice size live sand worms in stock! Our lively green crabs have been taking some nice togs from the jetty in IBSP also... John Yac

Fishing Report

Water and air temps continue in the right direction, with more and more small bass chasing swimming plugs on the night tides. We're only two weeks, (I hope) from the start of the fall run according to my predictions?? Black fishing, even though it's one fish per angler at 15" till Nov. 6th when the bag limit increases to 6, is keeping many fisherman happy with some great tasting fillets. Small blues seem to be everywhere in the surf by day. Crabbers are still trying out back with some success, but be ready to spend some time... Fishing Report

Very fishable winds forecasted for today! There is some nice white water with clean surf conditions, lending itself to a perfect surf for fish artificial lures. The bite remains a pick of small bass and blues but as we all know that can change on a dime. The dock out back has slowed down plenty, with fewer and fewer keeper crabs being taken, also the nice size blues that we have been enjoying for weeks are just about gone... John Yac

Fishing Report

With gale winds in today's forecast surf fishing in not high on most angler's lists. So what can we do? Well if your anything like me and love to procrastinate about tuning up your tackle for the fall run this can be a bonus day for you. Checking, sharpening, and changing out rusted hooks should be number one on your things to do list. Fresh line is always a good thing to have when things heat up, especially for those of you who fish mono. Servicing your reel's drag will also pay dividends in landing that fish of a lifetime. Last but not least guides and tips on your rods must be checked closely, a crack or cut in either will surely cause a break in your line in the most inopportune times causing you to loose that irreplaceable favorite lure or even worse, that elusive fish of a lifetime!...
