Another hot and humid day! That all should change with the passing of the approaching cold front late in the day. The fall like feel to the weather should jump start those surf guys who are stuck in the summer doldrums. Remember the mullet run is just around the corner marking the start of the fall run. Sharking in IBSP on the night tides remains good with some nice large browns and sand tigers putting you tackle to the test. With 2 weeks left in a tuff fluke season now is the time to turn up the heat on these flatties, for late August into September always brought some nice fish in close... John Yac

Fishing Report

Typical August weather, hazy, hot and humid! You will find some relief from this weather at the beach of course. While there cooling off, grab your rod, tie on a 3/4 to 1 oz. buck tail tipped with a 4" swimming mullet by gulp and give those flatties a try. Remember IBSP fluke regulations from the beach is 2 fish at 16", dinner for two! Any other location you have to deal with 3 fish at 18". Crabbing remains a pick... John Yac

Fish Report

The surf is a lot more fishable then it has been for the past several days. Rain gear is in order for today. The fishing report really hasn't changed, fluke and snapper blues by day, rays and sharks by night. The bay also remains the same, slow crabbing but still plenty of snapper blues... John Yac

Fishing Report

The best daytime surf action continues to be in IBSP. Fluking in the cuts and holes in the area of the inlet is producing some nice keeper fluke. Once again gulp leads the way, but fishing live baits like snapper blues will also attract these great eating flatties. You can find these snappers just about anywhere along the surf in our area. The bay report remains the same, crabbing slow, snapper blues with occasional larger bluefish roaming the docks and bulkheads... John Yac

Fishing Report

Surf guys are picking some nice fluke, not a ton, but when you find their ambush points you usually hook up with a decent keeper. Buck tails, weights to match surf conditions, tipped with matching color gulp, are out fishing all other methods. The surf is loaded with all size snappers chasing small baitfish. Small metals on light tackle is the way to go. Crabbing is still slow in the bay... John Yac
