A real mixed bag in the surf right now. Large cow nose rays, assorted sizes of sand sharks, fluke, blues and a few allusive bass all can be taken while fishing cut baits and clams with the fluke favoring a bucktail gulp or squid combo. The back bay has a pick of fluke in the BB and BI buoy areas along with some small blues on poppers. Crabbing in the bay in the area of "Good Luck Point" on the Toms River side has been very productive. Catches of 30 to 50 nice keepers have been taken by our 4 hour crabbing boat rentals... John Yac

The longest day of the year today welcoming in yet another summer season. With some decent weather in the forecast for the next few days the ocean should clean up nicely and hopefully bring some more fish with the improving conditions. But for now we have to play the hand we are dealt and pick at the fish that available in the surf. Brown sharks are starting to cruse our beaches at night so gearing up for them may be worth a shot... John Yac

Not much has changed over the past few days other then the crabbing in the bay improves daily. We are now carrying live sand worms and live killies for the summer season... John Yac

More of the same! It seems as if we are locked in a early summer time scenario with blues taking cut baits, small to keeper size bass taking clams and fluke on bucktails tipped with glup or squid. With high tide along our beaches at 3:45 PM, today will make a good surf fishing day! So grab some bait or your favorite lures and hit the beach! ... John Yac

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! Today is the day to honor the man who had a lot to do with the person you have become. For those of you who are lucky to still have your dad in your life make his day extra special and there is no better way to do that in my opinion than taking him fishing. Remember that more than likely he was the one who got you started in this great sport of ours in the first place. We still have a pick of bass, blues and fluke in the surf with the crabbing in the bay improving by the day. Catching or not it's still a great way to pass some time and if you could pass that time with your dad it makes it even more special!... John Yac
