The Latest and Most Relevant Fishing Updates You Should Know

The longest day of the year today welcoming in yet another summer season. With some decent weather in the forecast for the next few days the ocean should clean up nicely and hopefully bring some more fish with the improving conditions. But for now we have to play the hand we are dealt and pick at the fish that available in the surf. Not much has changed over the past few days other then the crabbing in the bay improves daily. We are now carrying live sand worms and live killies for the summer season... John Yac

More of the same! It seems as if we are locked in a early summer time scenario with blues taking cut baits, small to keeper size bass taking clams and fluke on bucktails tipped with glup or squid. With high tide along our beaches at 3:45 PM, today will make a good surf fishing day! So grab some bait or your favorite lures and hit the beach! ... John Yac

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! Today is the day to honor the man who had a lot to do with the person you have become. For those of you who are lucky to still have your dad in your life make his day extra special and there is no better way to do that in my opinion than taking him fishing. Remember that more than likely he was the one who got you started in this great sport of ours in the first place. We still have a pick of bass, blues and fluke in the surf with the crabbing in the bay improving by the day. Catching or not it's still a great way to pass some time and if you could pass that time with your dad it makes it even more special!... John Yac

Well yesterday brought some nice bass and blues to the local scales. Bass mostly in the 10# class were taking clams from Ortley Beach to the north thru Island Beach State Park to the south. Bluefish were also in the mix but cut bunker was the answer for them. Fluke are still being picked in the surf, the trick is to keep moving till you find the fish. Crabbing is finely taking a up turn one of our rental boats returned with a nice catch of 30 nice keepers to 6". The dock is still a work in progress thou... John Yac
