Fishing Report

Good idea to bring your rain gear today when you head out to the beach. A break in yesterday's heat is sure welcome, but wait, were not complaining after that horrible winter, just making a statement. Didn't hear of any fish yesterday and none made it to our cleaning table out back. The bay has a good fluke bite right now in the vicinity of the BB and BI buoys. Blue fish are still being caught on poppers and metals from the boats. Crabbing is steady, no blitz but a steady pick... John Yac`

It's going to be a hot one today, so why not spend some time at the waters edge with rod in hand! Some large bass have moved into the surf zone and this may just be the time to beat your personal best. Blue fish still dominate the fish being caught and keeper fluke are showing up now and then. Fishing Report

Another nice day to be at the shore! Fishing along our beaches are still producing blues, bass and fluke, there has been some talk about weakfish here and there but we haven't seen any hit the cleaning table out back as of yet. Some  anglers are taking advantage of the (2) fluke at 16" in Island Beach State Park. Just remember you have to have the fish tagged at the park checking station about 1 mile south of the gate, they are open from 10 AM to 6 PM daily. Crabbing of our dock and boats continues to be good so why not give it a try!.... John Yac

HAPPY FATHERS DAY !! The forecast couldn't be any better for a trip to the surf with dad, for those who are still fortunate enough to still have one with them. Thanks dad for giving me the burning desire to fish, it has brought me a lifetime pleasure! The boats are still pulling large striped bass from the bunker schools along our shores, using the snag and drop method along with trolling large bunker spoons. The surf continues to produce blues, bass and fluke mostly on bait but your favorite artificial lures will still work. Crabbing from our dock and our rental boats are producing some nice catches. Blues still roam the bay in mixed sizes and can be taken on cut baits and poppers... John Yac PS: Thanks again dad!
