Fishing Report

It's becoming a hit or miss game on our beaches right now. Some nice keeper bass and blues are being taken when schools of bunker come in close, but as they move off so do the fish. Cut bait and clams are still accounting for the lion's share of fish. Artificial lures are a real hit or miss possibly due to the still cool water temps. The back bay is a different story blue fish and bass are chasing metal and small swimming plugs and are also taking cut bait fished right on the bottom. Some nice catches of blow fish are being reported in the BB buoy area along with blue fish in the 2 to 5 lb range...John Yac

Slow pick continues on our beaches, but on the brighter side the fish that are being caught are nice size keeper bass taking well presented cut bunker and clams. Plenty of room out there to fish with no real large crowds of anglers as of yet. The back bay is still producing small blues on cut bait and metal. We will be carrying live eels as of today's bait delivery along with fresh bunker, clams and sand worms with a large selection of frozen bait as always....John Yac

Not many fisherman out yesterday but there were a few fish caught. We have plenty of fresh bunker and clams as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your needs.
The back again produced a few cocktail blues that were hitting cut bunker late yesterday afternoon and last night.

Summer weather is finally here thank God after a so so early spring. Striped bass and blue fish are still off our beaches and bait fishing remains the popular method of pursuit. The back bay is still producing blue fish and striped bass on cut bait and sand worms. As always we have plenty of fresh bunker, clams and sand worms. Our frozen bait selection includes sand eels and large squid tubes along with the rest of the staples.
It's still not to late to have a custom rod made as the turn around time is still not bad.

Don't want to sound like a broken record but bass are still taking clams and cut bunker from our area beaches and back bay. Still no great bite on artificial lures as of late at least in the ocean that is. The bay on the other hand is normal for this time of the year with swimming plugs and metal along with cut bait and worms accounting for some nice bass and blue fish. Phil "Dirt" one of our shop employees and a local fisherman for years nailed a very respectable 17 lb bass on cut bunker in the bay along with several nice blues in the 7 to 10 lb range Monday AM...John Yac
