Happy Cinco De Mayo
Bass and blues are hitting the fresh clams and bunker in the surf. Keepers are mixed in with a lot of shorts with a few blues as well.
The back is still producing nice sized bluefish in the 4-7 lb range and they are hitting mostly on fresh bunker.

Bass and blue fish continue to take cut bait and clams in Island Beach State Park. Still not much action on swimming plugs yet but that will change soon as the water warms and the bunker schools come closer to the beach. The back bay is still producing small to medium size blue fish and some short bass, all the action seems to be coming on cut bunker fished right on the bottom no float. Fishing around the 37 bridge area and Oyster Creek are still the hot spots in the bay. John Yac

No real monster bass yet but a steady pick of shorts and keeper bass along with medium size blues mixed in. All the fishing has been on clams and cut bunker so far, falling tide seems to be out producing the incoming. Plugs should start working soon as the large bunker schools start to appear. John Yac

Local beaches continue to produce blue fish and striped bass on clams and bunker to those willing to pit in a little time. All the action right now seems to be on bait in the ocean, while small swimmers and jigs are still producing along with cut bait and worms in the bay. The RT 37 bridge area down to Oyster Creek are still the spots to hit in the bay. We are still carrying both blood and sand worms in our shop. Remember today starts our WACKY WEDNESDAY clam sale. Fresh clams $3.75 a dozen! John Yac.
