The Latest and Most Relevant Fishing Updates You Should Know

Slow day yesterday with not many guys out there. Bass and blues are still hitting clams and bunker in the surf with a good pick of blow fish if you want them. We have fresh bunker and clams as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your needs. Blues were caught in the back yesterday afternoon in the 5-8 pound range on bunker chunks. Mario

Fishing Report

The reduced amount of fisherman on the beach  yesterday were treated to a dinning table treat. Large Northern Puffers (Blow Fish) were jumping on high-lo rigs baited with clams that were being fished for striped bass. The bass and blue fish bite yesterday was a little slow though one keeper managed to hit our scale. So if blow fish is your thing now is the time to hit the beach with small long shank hooks and stripes of clam. John Yac

Once you get passed the chill it looks like a great day. The ocean is still giving up some nice keeper bass and blue fish mostly on cut bait, but we did have a few fish caught on swimming plugs and metal. The back bay has stepped it up a notch the passed couple of days, lots of blue fish in the 4 to 8 lb range and  a few keeper sized bass mixed in. The bite has been mostly on fresh cut bunker, but metal has been working off the flats. John Yac

A lot of short bass were caught yesterday with a few keepers mixed in. There are blow fish in the surf as well nipping at clams so if your into them downsize to a blow fish rig and catch em up. Blues up to 32 inches were in the back yesterday afternoon for those who were chunking bunker and fighting the wind. Mario

The fish was caught on  a SP Minnow, nice catch Bill, it was the news we at the shop were waiting for. Bass and blue fish are still taking fresh clams and fresh cut bunker. The bay has been slow, schools of bunker are still present and reports of small bass and blue fish in the 37 bridge area continue to come in. We have fresh bunker and clams and will be carrying sand worms through out the spring bass run. A full line of frozen baits are always available, and live killies will be available soon. John Yac
