Yesterday was a good day for sure out front! Bass up to 27 lbs. hit local scales along with bluefish and black drum. The bait guys fishing cut bunker and clams were having some steady action at times, while the plug casters throwing SPs and rubber paddle tail jigs were also seeing some action. We had a nice bluefish come up late yesterday afternoon out back off the dock on cut bunker. It sure looks like things are finally coming together. All we need now is for the crabbing to get started! ... John Yac

Yesterday's catch in the surf was more like it! Bluefish, bass and black drum all fell to bait and lures alike. Every angler fishing wasn't hooked up by any means, but the bite was definitely better than past few days that's for sure. Seaside Park thru IBSP was the hot spots yesterday... John Yac

The bass pick goes on! Short to keeper size bass are still being taken out front on SP minnows, clams and cut bunker. You can find these fish from Lavalette thru IBSP. So far the spring bluefish run in our area has been almost non existent. Cooler water temps for this time of the year both bay and ocean may be to blame. The bay is still holding plenty of adult size bunker and the crabbing hasn't started yet off the dock... John Yac

Bass and bluefish are taking clams and cut bunker out front. Not a ton of fish by any means but just enough to keep the beach guys interested. There is still plenty of bait in the bay but no fish on them to speak of. Crabbing has not started out back yet, but we should have boats in the water by next weekend to kick off the season... The fishing has been improving by the day. Bass and now blues are out front in increasing numbers. Both bait and lures are working on these fish equally. No crabs as of yet out back off the dock, but with the water warming by the day the crabs should be here soon. We have fresh bunker, clams and bloodworms for your fresh bait needs... John Yac
