The great snow storm has passed! But the short bass bite didn't skip a beat. Yes there were fish taken yesterday by a few hardy souls fishing IBSP. A few fish were in the 20 inch class and several of them were taken by fly fisherman in close on long streamer style flies. How's that for dedication! The beat goes on for those who just will not quit trying! John Yac

Snow may be coming, but the bass could care less! The bite of small bass seems to be increasing. Judging from what seems to be selling, we have a rush on Tsunami holographic weighted eels, this can only mean one thing, SAND EELS!! This means the bass will be around well passed Christmas if past records mean anything. SP style swimmers and thin ava style metals both fished with teasers out front are always a good bet when small baits and sand eels are present... Fishing Reports

Good day yesterday! With the wind at your back and your artificial lures sailing out just that little further, anglers were finding themselves in the strike zone of some feisty short bass. Along with the action came that occasional keeper just keep everyone interested! The bait guys were also getting in on the day's action, but the lion's share of the fish were taken by the plug guys. It looks like today will be more of the same, with the air temps being just a little cooler, but the winds will still be at your back and a little slower... John Yac

Fishing Report

Like I have been saying, there are still a few keeper bass around for those of us who don't want to put the rods away just yet. SP minnows by far will out fish any swimming plugs in it's class, especially in our area for some unexplained reason. Second choice would be a swim shad followed by a wider profile metal. Bait is bait, cut bunker and clams will always be the one two punch in that department. Live eels are walking the line between artificial lures and natural baits, fished both live and rigged with both ways being deadly on big bass in the right locations and at the right times...
