Another good weather day in the forecast! The surf is starting to show signs of life in the striped bass department, not a ton of keepers by no means, but the schoolies are starting to get a little frisky. Small swimming plugs are drawing the attention of these bass in the surf. Cocktail blues are also in the mix with metals and small poppers doing the trick. Remember fall is here, and that means, LIVE EELS and GREEN CRABS in stock thru the end of the season!... John Yac

This is definitely the year of the bluefish! From snapper blues to teen size slammers, in the inlets, in the surf and back in the bay. Just about wherever you wet a line bluefish were present. The surf right now is the scene of cocktail size blues smashing schools of silver sides (spearing) from the Hights right through IBSP. With more and more cooler nights, causing lower water temps, which will increase bait migrations. On these migrating schools of bait you will find big bass and slammer blues in hot pursuit marking the start of the fall run!... John Yac

Surf conditions are just about back to normal. The brisk winds today will be coming out of the NW, a very favorable direction for fishing our ocean beaches. Yesterday just a little north of us, bait fish were spotted spraying out of the water, always a good sign! The blackfish bite off the jetty and in the canal remains good. With green crabs still the number one bait. Not many people crabbing, but the ones that are still hanging in there are putting together some decent catches.... John Yac

You can't catch fish if you don't at least try! With the unfavorable surf conditions the past week, anglers have been giving up on getting their fall run fishing started. But with improving surf conditions along with cooler air temperatures and some bait starting to move things could heat at any time. The bay is still holding blues and small bass and the crabbing is starting to come back nicely, with some nice large crabs being taken yesterday off our dock. The black fishing, although only 1 fish at 15" till Nov.16, is good both from the inlet jetty in IBSP and up north in the canal. We have green crabs to assist you in your pursuit of these great tasting fish. With the fall season starting we now have LIVE EELS and will carry them right through the end of the season... John Yac
