 A dry day with stiff NW winds in the forecast should bring more anglers to the surf today. With plenty of bait available and dropping water temps things should start to heat up soon. Westerly winds today in the forecast should flatten out the surf a bit and make it a lot easer to hold bottom. To spite the rough surf conditions, the blues are still around. If you intend to fish IBSP today around high tide it would be a good idea to call ahead and check if the beach buggy access roads are open. They were closed yesterday due to water being all the up to the dunes... John Yac

Welcome October! The stage is set for the long awaited "Fall Run", with bait continuing to poor out of the inlets and run the beaches. Along with the steady supply of small to medium blues, more and more "just" short bass are finding their way into the action. These bass are taking Polaris style poppers, SP style minnows and rubber paddle tails all in sizes to match the available bait. If striped bass is your main target, concentrate your efforts on first light, last light and the dark of night to increase you chances of hooking up. There is still some keeper crabs being taken out back off our dock, not a ton, but some nice ones never the less... John Yac

Another great surf fishing day on tap! There is plenty of bait with plenty of blues in pursuit. Resident bass can't seem to resist the large schools of mullet on their seasonal run with more and more of them being taken on artificial lures daily. The larger blues and bass can't be far behind... The beat goes on! Blues on mullet has been a staple in the surf for a while now, but each day more and more reports of short bass chasing artificial lures are trickling. There are large schools of bait just in and out of casting range on a daily bases providing a good draw for larger migrating bass and blues, we hope... John Yac
