Fishing Report

Hard to get a report on the surf activity with the lack of participation over the last several days. Rain and strong easterly winds has been keeping anglers at home. Today's forecast, although calling for some rain, has the winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. The surf remains fishable, so grab your rain gear and give it a try!

Fishing Report

The surf scene is switching over to it's summer mode now. Fluke fishing is starting to heat up, and tailor blues are also in the mix. Buck tail jigs tipped with gulp or squid strips for the fluke while poppers, swimmers, metals and cut baits for the blues. There are fluke and blues in the back bay also. The BB and BI buoys are the usual bay target hot spots while the inlets, Barnegat and Manasquan are also producing fish. Crabbing from piers and boats is just getting started in our area.

Fishing Report

Fishing remains good! Bass, blues, fluke and black drum are all present in the surf right now. Clams, cut bunker and squid strips will serve you well in the natural bait department. Swimmers, divers, jerk baits and poppers along with buck tails and assorted metals will all work if the conditions are right. The back bay still has plenty of life with blues, fluke and the occasional striped bass. Crabbing in our area haven't really started as of yet.
